Statistics

According to a report by the National Human Rights Commission, 40,000 children are abducted each year, leaving 11,000 untraced.

NGO's estimate that between 12,000 and 50,000 women and children are trafficked annually as a part of the sex trade.

There are an estimated 300,000 child beggars. Every year, 44,000 children fall into the clutches of gangs.

In 2015, only 4,203 human trafficking cases were investigated. In 2014, 76% of all people trafficked in India were women and girls.

Children make up roughly 40% of prostitutes. It is estimated that over 2 million women and children are trafficked for sex into the red-light districts.

The Indian Government estimates that girls make up the majority of children in sex trafficking.

     HUNGER

Hunger, is a persistent problem in India, with significant numbers of people experiencing undernourishment and related health issues

BACK TO SCHOOL

At Noba Foundation, the ‘Back to School’ Initiative is the brainchild of Chairman Rev. Fr. Raju Chebattina, created with the vision of rescuing school dropouts, child laborers, trafficked children, and orphans, and ensuring they return to school and complete their education. Through this initiative, we have already transformed the lives of many vulnerable children, giving them a chance to rebuild their futures. However, with the growing number of underprivileged girls in need of safe shelter, we are now working to establish a boarding home that will provide them with security, education, and holistic development. We invite donors and well-wishers to support this noble cause—together, we can empower girls, break the cycle of exploitation, and create a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Rural India in Andhra Pradesh

This is rural India in Andhra Pradesh. 50% of families are living below the poverty line and the lack of local industry and low levels of literacy make it difficult for inhabitants to escape poverty.

This means the children are often forced to work in bonded labour to repay their parents debts the jobs are poorly paid the hours are long and many are mistreated by their employers.

Education is not a priority.

The literacy rate in this mandal is below 8% less than 4% among women.

Parents cannot afford to send their children to school so child labor is high.

This diminishes the children's chances to gain an education and break this cycle.
